Understanding Your Coverage for My Services

For Canadian clients, Coaching Services are not covered by insurance as of April, 2025. As I am also a registered counsellor/ therapist, you may be able to claim under that category.
Regarding benefits, you can see if your extended benefits cover my services. You will need to check your policy to see if their coverage specifies what type of counselling services are covered. If you can contact your benefits administrator and let them know my designation as a Registered Master Therapeutic Counsellor with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada (ACCT) and my membership number is: #1051 also on the About Page of my website. Other clients received the information that if the counsellor is a registered Canadian Counsellor, the benefits are covered for my services. Please note, the policy for each company benefits plan is different.
Some insurance policies require clients to seek services from a registered psychologist, social worker or clinical counsellor to be eligible for coverage. If this applies to your plan, my services as a Registered Master Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC, MTC) may not be covered.
In this case, you have the following options:
- Choose a provider recognized by your benefits plan – You can opt for one of the clinicians listed in your policy.
- Proceed with my services at your own expense – If my designation is not covered, you may still choose to work with me privately.
- Request coverage with a letter from my association – I can provide a formal request letter from my professional association, which you can submit to your benefits provider. Approval is at their discretion.
- Referral to a recognized provider – If needed, I can refer you to colleagues whose credentials meet your benefits plan’s criteria.
